How to Verify if Your Gold is Real
The most reliable way to verify gold is to look for the Hallmark. In Saudi Arabia, all gold sold must be stamped with its Karat (e.g., '21K' or '875'). Always check for this stamp using a magnifying glass.
Another simple check is the Magnet Test. Gold is not magnetic. If your jewelry sticks to a magnet, it is likely gold-plated or fake. However, this test isn't definitive as non-magnetic base metals exist.
For high-value purchases, request an invoice that clearly states the weight, karat, and date. Reputable shops in KSA are strictly regulated by the Ministry of Commerce.
