Gold Bullion vs. Gold Jewelry: Which is Better?
If your primary goal is investment, Gold Bullion (bars and coins) is superior. Bullion typically has very low workmanship fees (Masna'iya) and is often tax-exempt in many jurisdictions (check local VAT rules). You buy strictly for the metal value.
Jewelry, while offering the utility of being wearable, carries higher premiums due to design and craftsmanship costs. When you resell jewelry, you often lose the Masna'iya value, getting paid only for the raw gold weight. However, jewelry provides the dual benefit of adornment and savings.
